Its a snowy Monday morning

Happy snow day to you all!

So this week has started off with a few inches of snow (as if you hadn’t noticed). It’s started off a bit weird in terms of me being on air today. I started off at 11 and was on until 3, instead of my usual 10-2. This is because we were anticipating bad weather and wanted to make sure that Adrian could stay until later after 7pm if needed .

On the show this week I will be playing you these new tracks

LEMAR                                  WEIGHT OF THE WORLD

TAKE THAT                          UP ALL NIGHT

TAYLOR SWIFT                  LOVE STORY

SHONTELLE                         T-SHIRT

As well as that I will be giving you th chance to win, Pizza hut meals, a meal out at a top restaurant in Cambridge and cinema tickets!... Make sure you join me all this week 10am-2pm

Don’t forget you can track me and see what I am doing by following me on the social networking site ‘twitter’ http://twitter.com/starradioryan I have been following Katie Price and Alan Carr recently... they are extremely funny to follow what they do. Also you can find me on facebook just search for my name.

Have a great week.

Week commencing 12th January 2009

Hello!
Well Today has been declared the most depressing day of the year... nothing like a positive start to the week, hey? Don't even think about that.
So, on the show this week...
Well the big news is that on Thursday 15th January I will spend the whole night homeless sleeping on the streets of Cambridge! Our charity of the month is winter comfort and to raise the profile of them and also I also want to see what it’s really like to have to live on the streets of Cambridge at this time of year.
I will be back in on air on the morning after (probably half asleep) and the following week there will be a special hour long programme featuring audio from the night with the stories and also requests of the homeless people of Cambridge.
I have to admit I am a bit nervous. I am going into totally unknown territory where anything could happen. I am most nervous about the reception I will get from the guys living on the streets, they will know I have the chance to go home and sleep in a nice warm bed and I don't want them to be offended by me. If you have had any experiences with homelessness then I would really love to hear from you. Please contact the studio.
Also on the shows this week I am going to be keeping you up to date with everything that is happening in the local area along with playing you some of the best tunes from old and new.
I hope you all have a great week and finally I would just like to say a huge thank you to everyone who is sending in their messages of support to me. They are gratefully received

Welcome to 2009!

Hello!

I hope you are all well and enjoying 2009 so far!

So hands up, how many of you have had or are still suffering with this flu/sickness bug? I know it hit me hard at the end of last year.

Looking forward to 2009 on the Ryan Taylor daytime show you can expect the following:

·         More chance to win great prizes

·         More music information

·         More localism from your local radio station

My Workplace challenges are going to be done slightly different this year. Instead of visiting a different workplace each week, I am now going to be working for ‘Star Radio’s charity of the month’. So there will be just one workplace challenge a month but this time it is going to be for a much more worthy cause.

Pets corner will continue to run each week as we try to find nice loving homes for animals at wood green animal shelter.

What’s my line will be happening everyday at around 11:15am, EXECPT on a Monday.

Also is there a new midday quiz on the way for 2009? Maybe with a little spin on it? Watch this space for more information.

This week then

I am talking about the A10 road works which have started today. They will last for 15 weeks and it will mean that the A10 is restricted to just one lane…as you can imagine that’s going to cause big tail backs!

Also this week I want to talk about why one of this Cities biggest and most famous land marks is not lit up at night? Do you know which one I am talking about?

Make sure you Tune in all this week on the Ryan Taylor daytime show 10am to 2pm on Star 107.9/1 FM or online at www.star107.co.uk

Thanks and all the best for the new year

Ryan Taylor

Monday Monday

Welcome along to the start of a brand new week and with it comes a brand new Wall of sound competition!

The wall of sound is a number of songs mixed over one and other, all you need to do is work out what they are! You have three chances to play every day and I will be playing it just after 12 O’clock. The prize up for grabs today is the Aleesha Dixon album called ‘The Aleesha show’.

As well as that, today I will be talking about Christmas songs… Is it too early for me to play a Christmas song on the radio? I want you opinions.

And finally you can hear all about what happened when I went along to a self defence class in Cambridge that was helping to promote a charity called ‘Standing Start’.

Overall it is a packed show today so make sure you tune in from 10am!

What a week

I have had a really good week with the show, but I am still glad it is the weekend.

It was a pleasant surprise when the legendary film actor Warwick Davis popped into the studio for a chat.

This week has been all very serious though as it has been anti bullying week. Thank you very much for all of your calls and texts with your stories.

Thanks for listening this week. I will be back on Monday from 10am- See you then!

Have a good weekend

Ryan

It's all about the way you dance!

Its nearly the weekend!

On the show today you will be hearing all about what happened last night at the Cuban salsa dancing lessons in Ely that me, Mark Peters and Amy Bidwell went to. I thought I did brilliant but according to the three judges at the end, I had a great wiggle but Mark had the right technique. I am not all that bothered though because Mark does take dancing lessons every week... In all honesty when you are up against someone who is dancing every week, you don't stand a chance!
It was great fun though overall, even if Jenny (A star radio listener) did turn up and kept grabbing my bum all night!
I want to say a massive thank you to Tracey and Mel for their work with both me and Mark on the night!
If you want to hear about what exactly happened then make sure your listening about 12:25!!!
